Filmed in the surreal landscape of Hawaii’s Volcanoes National Park lava fields, this poetic tale follows a daughter’s journey of spiritual awakening as she ventures outside the pendulum of secular timekeeping onto the topographically tortured borderlands of purgatory. Stripped of pretension, she holds a mirror up to her crumbling façade and in the process discovers newfound humility and gratitude for all the gifts her mother bestowed upon her.
